Delegation of the Port of Hamburg (HPA) was received by authorities of the National Ports Administration

A delegation of authorities of the Port of Hamburg comprised of Mr. Jens Meier, CEO, Mr. Lutz Birke, Head of Port Estate and Maritime Affairs, and Mr. Alan Dopierala, Assistant Manager to the CEO, is visiting the Port of Montevideo. Said delegation was received by the highest authorities of the National Ports Administration (ANP), including the Board of Directors. Also attending the meeting were Mrs. Luján Barceló, Consul General of Uruguay in Hamburg, and Mr. Artur Brunner, Economic Advisor, German Embassy in Uruguay.

The main purpose of this meeting between the port authorities of Uruguay (ANP) and Hamburg (HPA) is to promote trade and the cruise and maritime transport businesses, and to deepen friendly relations between both port authorities.

 

The aim is to encourage sustainable growth through a mutual understanding between said authorities and ports, their port communities, people and culture.

The first presentation, “Traffic and Businesses in Uruguay”, was made by Accountant Ana Rey, Assistant Manager of the Commercialization and Finance Area of ANP. 

Likewise, the CEO of the Port of Hamburg, Mr. Jens Meier, made a presentation to ANP’s Board of Directors and Management staff regarding rates, infrastructure and logistics, and then a question and answer session was held.

In the afternoon, the German delegation will visit the Port of Montevideo guided by Mr. Edison Peña, Manager of Operations and Services.
